about her
Evi Labropoulou was born in Kavala, Greece. Has written two novels- and a novella that oughta be out soon. She wrote her first novel, HappyLou, during the night. Before that, she acquired short story awards she hasn’t used yet. Sometimes, she sleeps well.
READ MORE: Has written for literary & lifestyle magazines, including max, klik, cosmopolitan, ozon. Contributes book reviews to the prestigious newspaper TA NEA – which is great cause she gets numerous free books most of which she actually reads.
In 2000, she got a writers’ scholarship to Nuremberg, Germany (what a party!). Has been called post-modern, rebel, generation next, punk writer and ‘a treasure’, has been compared to Bret Easton Ellis & Douglas Coupland (naturally, she loves that!). Favorite writers include Jay macInernay, Will Self, Elizabeth Wurtzel, Mary Gaitskill, some Henry Miller+Anais Nin, Broch, Irvin Welsh, Arthur Nersessian and more. Loves pop art, Cheap Art, contemporary literature, comics, Holy Golightly – the singer- and swimming. This is perhaps because she grew up in Kavala -some Greek seaside city- which in the summertime becomes an island. Always sniffs books before she reads them, despises historical novels and anything remotely associated with a story of a tortured prewar grandmother whom one has never met.
Currently (inexplicably) she is living on an a island - but would much rather live in New York and wish she were living on an island. She is deeply urban, you see.

Hi Evi,
love your blog! Are any of your books published in English I would love to read them. Get off that island and hurry and be Europe’s answer to Mr Coupland. And hey why aren’t you writing scripts too.
